Job Description

Logistics Planner£27,500 per annum plus benefits and bonus.Darlaston, West MidlandsMonday to Friday Office HoursWorking with the worlds largest producer of lead and lead alloys whilst also being a leading authority on waste battery collection and recycling, this is a company who dominate the market with production facilities across the world including Europe, TheUSA and South Africa. Alongside their Technologies function they offer a nationwide service throughout the UK for the collection for every type of battery or battery powered appliance. Once collected they are taken back to their headquarters in Darlaston wherethey are stored until ready for recycle.As a logistics planner you will be working with a small, like-minded team within the scheduling department to ensure all activities, routing, delivery and pick-up time frames are met, and a smooth process is achieved.You will support all sections within the department and accurately issue, daily, weekly and monthly plans and reports as required, you will also;

  • Assist with the debriefing of the driving teams where necessary and keeping all file up to date and compliant.
  • Ensure all work allocated to the driver teams carries all the relevant compliance, operators licence, health and safety and legislative.
  • Monitor, report and challenge where necessary, departmental invoices against third party invoices etc..
  • Develop and contribute to KPI reports for management as required.
  • Raise relevant purchase orders as required for the department
  • Assist with time sheets for payroll
  • Assist with internal audits
  • Understand and comply with relevant company rules
Experience
  • Experience of Transport planning for collections and delivery services, preferably within guidelines of ADR.
  • A sound geographical knowledge of the UK and Ireland
  • Excellent English language speaking and writing skills

Technical requirements;
  • High level Microsoft Office skills, SAP and/or other ERP experience desired.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • High level of analytical capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Operators licence requirements
  • To report to the Supervisor(s) constructively to ensure planning function remains compliant, functional and within budgetary forecasts
  • To complete tasks in a timely and highly accurate manner.
  • Ensure that all plans and resources are made within customer and company guidelines concerning service agreements and legality.
  • Support the Logistics function compliance and ensure all compliance requirements and standards are not breached or compromised.
