Job Description

Are you looking to work for a small friendly teamAre you looking for part time hours, with flexibility on start and finish timesWe are looking for a Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant on a part time basis.Location: DarlastonJob Type: Temporary - ongoingSalary: £12 per hourHours of work: 15-20 hours per week across 2-3 daysAbout the Company: We are working with a small and friendly business, who are a supplier of products to businesses across the UK/ You will be working in a small finance team.Job Summary: As a Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant,you will be responsible for accurately processing and recording all supplier invoices, reconciling statements, and assisting with month-end closing activities. You will play a vitalrole in ensuring timely payments to suppliers and maintaining accurate financial records.Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring all invoices are coded correctly and matched to purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier records in the accounting system.
  • Assist with the preparation of month-end reports and reconciliations.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve any invoice or payment-related queries.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve existing processes and implement best practices.
  • Support the accounts payable team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a similar role within a finance or accounts payable department.
  • Solid understanding of purchase ledger processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
