Interaction Recruitment are looking for a Logistics Manager to join a well established steel manufacturer based in DarlastonThis is a fantastic opportunity for a coordinator within the Logistics sector who is looking to take the next step and further there careerGeneral duties include: . Regularly review service providers and identify appropriate tactics to secure or develop the business with better cost per tonne. . Plan each call or visit ensuring there is always a clear objective and purpose i.e another step which helps to progress the business. . Regularly review of service and issues affecting Logistics and the status of customer orders. Monthly KPI Reviews . Identify and target logistics area sectors where opportunities exist to develop new transit routes. . Analyse existing customer base and identify opportunities to provide a better logistical service. . Create a staged plan of action to develop business, drawing upon internal Commercial expertise for support. . Identify opportunities to improve the standards of service; registering proposals with your MD. . Seek opportunities to work with fellow subsidiaries to enhance service . Continually check with port and road haulage firms what their latest initiatives and strategies are. . Progressively build up and record in a neat and tidy manner relevant information for each Logistic provider which can be easily retrieved and utilised by other members of the Logistical department . Complete visit reports when action is needed or important information has been obtained. . Ensure effective information is accurate, produced on time. . Obtain and communicate up to date (relevant) market information which could be useful to the senior management / colleagues . Identify, meet and adapt approach with key influencers who can affect the business decision. . Present (Leave behind) the image that we are a professional, innovative company, whom the customer can trust and give the majority (if not all) their business. . Seek opportunities to meet key influencers and decision makers to enhance the relationship. . Regularly discuss and review port services and road/rail service with Logistic team in the UK and at the mill/HO. . Regularly review issues and invoices with Finance Dept. . Agree call off orders in writing with an end date for final delivery. . Assess the most appropriate / profitable supply solutions to satisfy orders within timescales agreed . Continually seek feedback from all around you, both internal and external, and carry out objectives for improvement. . Identify and complete objectives to develop essential skills and knowledge . Invest time to develop logistics relationships with key contacts at each of the mills. The ideal candidate will need the below: Managerial Skills -Understands all activities within the Warehousing and Logistics Dept. Presentations - confident, well presented and professional Negotiating - well prepared Good Communication skills This is a permanent position with lots of opportunites for growth Salary £32k - £35k with bonuses Please email CV to
