Job Description

A Bandsaw Operator, is required to join a materials testing and engineering company based in Wednesbury.You will be responsible for preparing samples and components for testing. This involves the operation of a variety of saws to cut steel samples to size. You may also be required to operate other machinery in the preparation process, mounting, grinding andpolishing samples etc.Your duties will include;

Operating various bandsaws and circular saws to cut steel samples to size
Mounting, grinding, polishing and etching sample test pieces
Preparing of corrosion specimens
Assisting in the mechanical testing department
Collecting and dropping off samples in the company vehicle (optional - not a required duty)

The position is ideal for you if you have experience of anything involving; bandsaw operating, metal sample preparation, microscope work, metallography or working in a lab / testing environment.If you have any of the above experience, or similar, then you will be suitable for this role!The position is working a permanent day shift of 8:00am - 4:40pm (with a shorter earlier shift on Fridays of 7:30am - 2:30pm).The starting rate of pay for this role is £9.50 per hour.This is a temp-to-perm role with permanent opportunities available.If you think this Bandsaw Operator role is right for you, APPLY NOW!ASC Connections Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
