Here at Watkin Jones, we are now looking to appoint a Site Manager to work on our extensive affordable home project based in Crewe.This ground-breaking development will consist of 245 new homes, including 159 affordable homes. The scheme on Sydney Road will create a balanced community with more than double the required affordable housing for rent and for sale.Located within walking distance of Crewe town centre, as well as the highly connected rail station, the development will include significant green space and two pond features to encourage biodiversity.Candidates ideally need experience with volume house building on timber frame and traditional build, you will be responsible for managing the infrastructure, substructure and superstructure of this project as well as general site management duties, ensuringthat company standards and procedures are adhered to at all times. Monitoring the construction working programme with the Project Manager, you will review the developments drawings and be aware of forecast costs and budgets in order to minimise waste andmaximise value. The Site Manager will also monitor plant equipment costs and preliminaries to include the set-up, cost of plant and office on a weekly basis and manage the sub-contractors, labour, plant and materials, issuing requisitions as required.Additionally you will manage works on site, managing quality, safety and pace to ensure that projects and work is completed on time to the required standard and hold responsibility for tasks within the development / project as delegated by the Senior SiteManager, or Contracts / Project Manager.This is a management role which includes line management of staff along with accountability and responsibility for work on site as delegated by the company.About YouWere looking for an individual who is educated to NVQ Level 3, A Level or HNC standard in a relevant discipline or who has the equivalent experience. With good communication skills and a technical aptitude, you need to possess a SMSTS certificate, FirstAid certificate and a scaffolding Inspection certificate and hold a valid CSCS card.
