Senior Principle Scientist The companyI am delighted to work with a well-established biotechnology company that is a rapidly expanding manufacturer of pharmaceutical and research products.About the roleThey are looking to expand their innovation capabilities and are searching for a highly experienced subject matter expert in microbial/ plasmid DNA R&D to complete their busy team on a permanent basis.The role is ideal for someone who has strong demonstrable experience in microbial strain development and engineering, and is able to work in a proactive and independent fashion. Candidates would be expected to possess a minimum of 5 years+ direct experience with microbial molecular biology techniques.Ongoing training will be provided where necessary.Key responsibilities- Acting as the subject matter expert on microbial strain development- Working independently to design new processes/ manage projects- Communicate with clients and explain findings- Providing expert technical input into scientific projects- To maintain excellent work relationships and train other staff when necessaryKey competencies and experience- PhD or equivalent experience in this specific field- Strong proven experience working with microbial strain development- Highly skilled with a range of molecular techniques; DNA cloning, sequence analysis, in silico DNA sequence management, DNA manipulation and fermentation.- Ability to work independently as a senior team member and expert- Ability to work in a fast paced team driven environment- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsKeywords:Research, development, innovation, DNA, sequencing, sequence, microbial, microbiology, fermentation, bacterial, strains, strain, cloning, project, process improvement, program, senior, trainer.Harris Lord is acting as a recruitment agency for this role Required skills
