Job Description

Job Role: Senior HR Business PartnerReports to: HR DirectorBased: Crewe with travel to stores and WimbledonWHOS RIGHT FOR THE ROLEAll the teams in Ryman, in our stores and in our Retail Support Centre, demonstrate how passionate about retail we are, by putting our customers first and sharing the vision to keep our customers at the heart of everything we do. We are all resilient, innovative and adaptable team players.WHAT YOU WILL DOAs a Senior HR Business Partner, you will contribute to the successful delivery of a strategically focussed HR team by proactively driving the people agenda. You will:

  • Business partner Sales and Operations Managers in the field, along with Heads of Departments across the Crewe Retail Support and Distribution Centre
  • Develop effective working relationships with stakeholders from across the business
  • Manage all employee relations issues, ensuring managers have the appropriate skills to deliver consistent and fair outcomes
  • Ensure managers are confident in managing performance promptly, fairly and consistently
  • Support Sales and Operations Managers and Heads of Departments to build Line Manager capability within their region/function
  • Review Employee Engagement results and develop robust action plans in conjunction with regions/functions to make a difference
  • Support and encourage colleague recognition, thus ensuring Ryman is seen as a great place to work
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the Group Teams
  • Support stakeholders to identify resourcing needs through regular and effective talent planning and recruitment activities
  • Coach and support stakeholders within the Crewe Retail Support Centre, Field Teams and in stores
  • Work closely with the Learning and Development team to support and promote key learning activities
  • Proactively lead and develop new HR initiatives in order to add continued value to the business
  • Analyse and evaluate absence, attrition and recruitment data effectively
  • Be responsible for managing, coaching and developing a HR Advisor
  • Take overall accountability for employee administration activities and employee data, complying with GDPR legislation
  • Keep up to date with employee legislation
  • Champion the Ryman and TPRG culture through demonstrating the Group values and behaviours at all times

  • Self-confident individual who can establish and sustain effective working relationships with stakeholders across a variety of stores, departments and functions
  • Ability to be adaptable and pragmatic whilst having the confidence to put your case forward on the basis of law or principle when required

QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Strong HR background in a fast-paced, customer-facing business, preferably in a multi-site environment
  • Able to work effectively with others, creating a joined-up approach to HR across Ryman and TPRG
  • Proven ability to coach and encourage managers to make the right decisions first time
  • Able to provide clear and concise guidance to line managers
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and respond appropriately to deadlines
  • The ability to constructively challenge others without damaging working relationships
  • Vision and creative thinking
