Job Description

This Manufacturing Engineer role is based at an established Manufacturer. As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for the programming, product introduction, definition, improvement and ongoing technical support of the manufacturing method fora variety company components.Client DetailsThe client is a leading manufacturer in the North West of England, and is looking to add a manufacturing engineer to its ranks to help facilitate growth.Description

  • Create, maintain and govern technical instructions, programmes, and tooling to clearly define the manufacturing process and controls for specific parts.
  • Provision of procedures, data cards and CNC programs for grinding, milling and electro-discharge machining processes
  • Managing technical change and improvement done through suppliers
  • Introduction of new manufacturing technology
  • Driving quality, cost and efficiency improvements through process optimisation ensuring all changes are managed in line with local & customer change control procedures.
  • Day to day support of Operations on process requirements
  • Creating and effectively using PFMEA and Control Plans for specific processes and parts
  • Leading and managing process trials associated with new NPI programs or technical change
  • Ensuring appropriate data collection and review procedures are in place
  • Identifying and supporting/leading business/process improvement projects
ProfileEssential:
  • Project management and process control experience
  • General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, ERP, etc.)
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
  • Lean & Continuous Improvement Experience
  • Methodical, logical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Thoughtful and effective communication skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good team player with collaborative attitude and a flexible approach with a strong & passionate drive for results
Desirable
  • Minimum five years manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in an Aerospace component manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with 3 and 5 axis grinding or electro-discharge machining
  • Industry 4.0 knowledge an advantage
  • Metallurgical coating, joining or heat treatment process management.
  • Experience in introducing and statistically qualifying new tools & equipment into a factory
  • Knowledge of method of manufacturing & processes used to manufacture specific components according to company needs
  • Preferably Six Sigma Green or Black Belt accreditation. Knowledge and understanding in process control and problem investigation tools (PFMEAs, control plans, RCA, 7 Step, 5 Whys)
  • Leadership experience, strategic thinker with persuasion skills.
Job OfferSalary: £30,000 - £45,000 dependant on experience.
