Job title: Locomotive Fitters (electrical bias) Job location: Crewe.Hourly pay rate: £18.57 per hour PAYE.Shifts: Shifts (mornings, afternoons, nights and occasional weekends).Hours per week: 42 hour week plus overtime (most averaging about 48 per week). Client Summary: A Market Leader in Logistics/Rail Freight, Maintenance and RepairPosition Summary:We are looking to add some additional support within our Depot in Crewe, Cheshire and are looking to engage 15 new Locomotive Fitters ideally to commence work with immediate effect.The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the Safety and Maintenance of the Companies busy Fleet of Class 90, 92 and 325 Electric Locomotives undertaking works, maintenance and repairs on the underframes and bogies in line with company Standardsand Procedures.Person Profile/Experience:A skilled Technician/Mechanic and ideally time served, ideally you will have previous experience of undertaking maintenance, service and repair work on Diesel and/or Electric Locomotives, ideally on the underframes, bogies and wheelsets. Youll have the abilityto make sound engineering decisions and will have good communication skills, written and oral.We will also consider people who have not come through a rolling stock background if they have heavy maintenance experience in plant, buses, HGV etc. You may have a current PTS but this is not essential as successful candidates will undertake a local PTS courseAdhere to health and safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards.
