Job Description

Novus Networks are seeking proactive, self-motivated IT Support Technicians to join our expanding Support Services team. The candidates will be mainly covering the Cheshire area, supplying onsite support to secondary schools and some businesses. They willbe providing hardware and software support to end users. At the jobs core, the candidate will be needed to help maintain customers computer networks, printers, other peripherals and support the day-to-day running of vibrant and active schools we support.We are looking for Full Time Onsite roles based on one site for long periods of time and Roaming Technician roles who will provide absence cover for our sites and the helpdesk, support on larger projects and roll outs. We need out team to be mobile and ableto travel to sites easily; and at times, at short notice, so access to transport and driving license are essential for all candidates.Typically, the role will require the 1st and 2nd line technical support issues to be resolved on site, or provide remote hands to 3rd line engineers and help desk where needed.More about the RoleAs an IT Support Technician, you will provide technical support services to busy Schools and businesses, including support for software and hardware including desktops, laptops, tablets, projectors/TVS, interactive technologies printers, servers, basic networkingand telephones.. The role is very hands-on with exceptional trouble shooting and customer service management skills required.You will be expected to be a friendly approachable point of contact on site, while working with the Novus Support Services Team to deliver the customers IT Services. You will report regularly to your Service Delivery Manager, and work closely with our fullystaffed offsite IT service desk to help you deal with more complex issues.Experience working in the challenging environment of IT in schools would be valuable, with high levels of customer service, technical understanding and an ability to adapt and positively deal with high-pressure situations when they occur.Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Servers and core components.
  • Basic Networking knowledge.
  • DHCP, DNS
  • PC diagnostic Skills
  • Windows Server and Desktop operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, AAD,
  • Office 365, Teams, Google Classroom
  • Firewall and Filtering
  • Desktop Deployment (WDS, MDT, SCCM)
  • High levels of communication & service
  • Communications skills are critical.
  • The ability to trouble shoot, research, resolve issues
  • Able to respond to and update customers on issues and inquiries logged promptly, politely and using the correct processes.
  • Perform hardware repairs when needed.
  • Maintain asset logs of equipment
  • Create and update processes and procedures
  • Share job responsibilities and knowledge within the Team.
  • Ensure a clean and organised working environment.
