Job Description

Head of Operations role based in Crewe. Site Leadership role working for a growing manufacturing company.Client DetailsOur client is a global manufacturer of precision engineered and machined components.DescriptionThe purpose of this role is to execute business and operations strategies, with the primary focus on operational management, driving and optimizing all processes to ensure consistently high levels of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity & People, implementingstructures and systems to enable, maintain, and deliver the business plan in the operations function.The Head of Operations will oversee all daily operations of production, driving a right first-time high-quality culture, generating a culture of high performance through effective relationships and collaboration/alignment across all functions, ensuring accountabilityat all levels.Primary Accountabilities: Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to all functional areas supporting the successful operations of the business. This will include supporting other senior leadership team members and working as a team in a matrix organization to drive right firsttime production and on time delivery Drive a coordinated and engaged team culture throughout operations, working closely with the operations manager and team as well as the Trade Union and production employees at all levels, to embed the company values and a clear understanding of what goodlooks like, Support the development of a values and performance-based culture, ensuring that all employees are accountable, have/understand clear goals/objectives, the necessary training & development to accomplish the demands/expectations of the business and arereviewed regularly against performance targets. Optimize operational performance through appropriate planning and deployment of resources including OPEx, SIOP Labour utilisation, Productivity etc., Work closely with HR and the UK GM to ensure the organizational structure, capacity and resources are appropriate to meet the business demands and anticipate the current/future states of the business. Implement and embed a Performance Excellence culture and practice; bring rigor, focus and execution, of operational improvements by establishing and leveraging best practices from both internal and external sources. Support the Commercial and Customer Service team in their mission for strong collaborative customer relationships through knowledge, commitment, consistent results. Deploy resources necessary to ensure excellent customers care and execution from all levelsof the organization. Support the development of new product offerings in line with groups corporate strategy and global market trends. Ensure the organization is prepared with capital expenditure planning, people development and organizational capacity planning to deliveragainst NPI plans. Plan and successfully deliver against a robust budget and business plan to include cost management and the achievement of revenue targets. This will include successfully engaging all functional areas in the achievement of the budget. Ensure that all employees understand, support and demonstrate the cultural values, norms and standards that govern the successful operations and growth of the business.Profile Production Manufacturing experience is essential Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering or related field of study is required, or equivalent. Masters degree preferred but relevant experience instead is also acceptable. Proven track record successfully managing operations to achieve bottom line profitability through sustainable operational excellence to include lean manufacturing, process management, systems maximization and the development of a strong team Proven leadership ability. Experience working with and supporting a team to create accountability in a results-oriented environment. Experienced in building and managing customer relationships in an industry where competition is high and results are achieved through operational and quality excellence Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve business results is extremely important. A proven track record as a Head of or Leader of Operations. Experience in the aerospace or industrial gas turbine industry is desirable, but not essential, as is a strong background in a precision engineering or machined component environment.Job OfferExcellent salary plus bonus, car allowance and benefits.
