Job Description

Head of IT Crewe - Hybrid£65k - £75kExcellent development opportunity with clear progression working towards a CTO position. The company have aggressive growth plans, with a view to sell in two years time, and as part of the management team, and a shareholder, you would expect a payout atthat time.Ultimately, within this role, you will be responsible at board level for all technology resources and help establishing the company vision whilst driving digital strategies and plans for growth. This is a forward thinking, cutting edge business based inCrewe. Seeking an ambitious and driven to manager to grow and develop the IT department.The Head of IT is responsible for the successful IT operations of the local office. The position is highly technical and hands-on in nature. The role requires strong communication skills. An understanding of IT best practices and standards in a complex creativeenvironment are key.Major Responsibilities/Primary Functions

  • Manage the IT Help Desk o Desktop Support (Mac and PC)
  • Manage a team of six with a view to growing the team
  • Infrastructure support (basic systems administration and network administration)
  • Application Support
  • Audio-visual support
  • Global and local project support
  • Disaster Recovery and BCP (Business Continuity Planning)
  • Client and business unit support as needed
  • Equipment Inventory Management
  • Fulfil reporting requests from Finance
  • Handle Ad hoc requests from users
  • Provide application training for end users and IT Staff
  • Implement various security protocols and controls
  • Manage System Patching and Vulnerability Remediation
  • Evaluate how various processes within the business can be improved or automated through technology
Tasks
  • Implements, adheres to, and maintains the offices technology policies and procedures
  • Manages local IT functions, including IT procurement, vendor management, IT services, and related business service provision
  • Project manages local projects and either leads or takes part in global projects as required
  • Supports client needs including ensuring compliance of IT operations to client contracts
  • Directly oversees and provides leadership and professional development to local IT department
  • Annually establishes and manages the local IT budget
  • Works with department heads to understand each departments technological needs
  • Stays current with latest technology/new media trends
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • 8 years IT experience in an SME organisation with increasing responsibilities, including budget management
  • 4 years project management experience on both small and large scale development projects
  • Thorough understanding of IT technologies and methodologies, including but not limited to Windows Server, VMWare, Active Directory, JUNOS, TCP/IP, Networking, Power BI, Linux, Mac OS, MS Office, Google Workspace. Working knowledge of hardware includingservers and networking equipment.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced creative environment with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to interact with internal (and external clients as needed) at a variety of levels and across functions
  • A proven track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Highly organised with a keen sense of attention to detail and follow through skills
  • Ability to prioritise a large number of tasks and self manage
