Job Description

Accountancy Recruit is partnering an owner managed tech business to recruit a Financial Controller on an interim or interim to perm basis. There is some flexibility on how this engagement is structured as there is plenty to do and the focus could be projects,we are therefore able to consider limited company contractors operating outside IR35 or a fixed term contract arrangement. There is also scope for this role to become permanent. The Financial Controller will oversee the day to day running of the finance function.This role would suit a Senior Management Accountant ready to step up, a Finance Manager or experienced FC. The Financial Controller will have the following remit:

  • Responsibility for the month end process including consolidation for all group companies
  • Year end processes, delivery of year end statutory accounts, management of external audit.
  • Day to day management of banking and finance facilities, accounts payable, credit control and invoicing, payroll, forex and cash management.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting including Tax and VAT compliance.
  • Manage small finance team.
  • Develop internal controls, identify and implement efficiencies in process and systems.
  • Manage cash flow.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, standard operating procedures and daily / weekly / monthly tasks.
  • Assist the senior leadership team in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board member.
  • Adhoc projects to support the FD.
To be successful in this role the Financial Controller will have the following experience:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
  • Demonstrable ability to manage, review and improve day to day finance operations and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of technical accounting principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge in the accounting frameworks including IFRS15.
  • Sound knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP (Business One). Expert in Microsoft office tools, especially Excel.
The salary advertised for this role is a guideline and the salary/rate offered will be commensurate with experience.
