Job Description

Job Title: Finance CoordinatorLocation: Crewe, TotonSalary: Competitive, depending on experienceJob type: Full TimeThe role: We are currently recruiting for a Financial Co-Ordinator to join the team, with the role primarily working on a major UK national rail infrastructure project, the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS), a programme of work that impacts not justDB but the entire rail network infrastructure across the UK.The position will be ensuring full financial tracking and control of spend on the ERTMS and its sister project ETCS (European Train Control System) project. The successful candidate will also provide full financial recovery and all costs from Network Railin respect of the ERTMS and ETCS projects.The role offers a hybrid and flexible working basis from home and from different locations such as our Crewe and Nottingham premises. Due to the nature of the position, there will be a requirement to travel.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:What will you be doing

  • Identify, monitor and capture all spend incurred across the business on the ETCS project.
  • Ensure that all costs on the project are claimed from Network Rail and are reimbursed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain complete records of costs incurred and claimed to satisfy any future audit requirements from Network Rail.
  • Financial modelling and costing to ensure that proposed charging mechanisms are correct and accurate.
  • Compile and update regular long term financial forecast on expected spend on the ETCS project.
  • Support the maintenance controller to provide financial analysis, reporting and business partnering to the maintenance function
What is ERTMSThe European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) is being developed and introduced to enhance cross-border interoperability throughout Europe by creating a single standard for railway signalling. A continuous communication-based signalling system,ERTMS is linked digitally to the European Train Control System (ETCS) an automatic control system. ETCS brings in the digitalisation of an in the cab-signalling system, improving cost efficiency, increased safety and a reduction in overall resources, not onlybringing benefits to our customers but meeting the global need to reduce greenhouse emissions with a greater reduction in our overall carbon footprint.Who are we looking forWe are looking for candidates who have a financial background and a strong understanding of financial applications and systems.Due to the nature of the position, attention to detail is preferable and the ability to interpret and investigate high volumes of data.As the position is working with numerous departments, mainly the ERTMS team, we are looking for candidates who have excellent communications skills and able to approach people across the wider business and able to challenge and question where appropriatein a professional and polite manner.We are also looking for candidates who are able to self-motivated, enthusiastic and proactive in managing their workload effectively on their own and also as part of a team.We are also looking for a candidate who has experience working on large scale projects and working towards business needs and understanding the requirements and specificationBenefits:
