Job Description

The Acoustics Engineer will support the delivery of current model lines acoustic test & development. Working with the Attribute Technical Manager - the Acoustics Engineer will have responsibility for the technical development and delivery of the whole vehicleattribute target performance, on time and within budget, in collaboration with internal and external business partnersKey Deliverables

  • Setting and delivery of subjective and objective attribute target
  • Definition of component & system acoustic targets
  • Performing relevant objective and subjective acoustic assessments of whole car & systems against sign off status or target
  • Ability to conduct complex concerns, root cause investigation, countermeasure development and design recommnedations
  • Ability to manage outsource activities with key service providers and suppliers
  • Ability to conduct other Acoustic attribute testing based on test guidelines, data processing guidelines and attribute sign off/target information
  • Develop of new processes and methodologies to enhance Whole Vehicle - Acoustics capability and competence
Practical & Technical Knowledge
  • Specific acoustic/NVH attribute development knowledge in key attribute area (e.g. Aero-acoustics, Road Noise, Powered Ancillaries, ride Comfort, Powertrain, Sound Quality) demonstrating attribute delivery, physical development testing
  • Experience in acoustic data acquisition and analysis techniques
  • Acoustic simulation experience
  • Subjective evaluation skills & Jury evaluation studies
  • Product & Attribute Development experience
  • Experience of component and system technical specifications and design critic acoustic performance delivery
Skills/Experience
  • A self-starter with a customer-focused mind-set,
  • excellent communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organise, prioritise and manage multiple task and deliver within project constraints
  • Proactive ability to collaborate and influence to deliver results to a broad range of stakeholders across the business
  • Ability to work x-functionally with Design Functions, Quality, Production
Qualifications
  • A degree in acoustics or equivalent experience
