Job Description

Five Education is supporting a special school in Bath. This is a primary school, catering to children with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) and some other needs, including ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition). This is an Ofsted rated Good school who value team players and candidates who are willing to be proactive and help the students to develop personally and academically.You will be working with small classes in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This role is initially on supply but may become permanent for the right candidate. This role will start with the new school year in September 2020.Responsibilities and duties:

  • Leading small classes where there are significant needs including SEMH
  • Working with at least one Teaching Assistant per class, proving guidance and support where needed
  • Supporting other staff members
  • Providing feedback and assessing the work of the student
  • Developing a relationship with the students caregivers and other qualified professionals who support them
  • Implementing behaviour management tools
  • Essential Criteria:
  • QTS, Induction is ideal but not essential
  • Recent teaching experience at a primary level
  • Knowledge of the KS1/2 curriculum
  • Experience teaching or supporting children with SEMH
  • A flexible and resourceful approach
  • You will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement
  • Training in Team Teach, Mapa or PRICE would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
  • Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/Police checks
