REED Accountancy & Finance are actively working with a long-established and hugely successful family run business in the outskirts of Belfast / North Down and have an exciting new permanent opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team.This is a full time permanent opportunity offering hybrid working, both in the office and from home.Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant will provide support to the finance support function assisting with the preparation of accounts to Trial Balance and balance sheet reconciliation.More specific duties will include:Accrual accounting and journal managementPrepare VAT and Intrastat returns and submit on a timely basisComplete all statistical returnsPrepare stock reconciliations for all locationsPrepare monthly Balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare legal entity trial balances for the above companiesPreparation of supporting schedules for Legal Entity financial statementsPreparation of audit files for the external auditors and liaising with the auditors for the annual auditOversee the transactional functionsThe Person:Applicants will hold a part professional qualification and will have an excellent understanding of the accounting functionApplicants will have experience working with Sage X3 / Sage software and will have an advanced knowledge of MS ExcelApplicants will have previous experience preparing stock reconciliationsA knowledge of document management software would be idealPlease get in touch with Lizzy Lyons on and email an up to date cv to
