A great opportunity to earn a good basic salary with above average benefits with this fast-growing, profitable and progressive company.One of the world’s leading suppliers of laboratory equipment for use in the pharmaceutical industry, this business holds an enviable position within a niche market.Success is based on high quality, flexibility, responsiveness, technological innovation and excellent staff and they are now seeking to add a Product Assembly Team Leader to their small, but highly effective team.Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day management of the assembly operation.This is a hands-on role encompassing the assembly of products to ensure that they meet all the required quality and safety standards and to ensure that product testing and documentation is accurately completed prior to dispatch to the customer.Specifically, you’ll be required to:- Manage team performance by monitoring KPIs and taking appropriate action.- Assign the team workload to ensure productivity and efficiencies are achieved.- Resolve issues (e.g. component shortages, documents, quality issues etc.)- Identify opportunities to improve performance and ensure adherence to the ISO:9001 quality management system.- Undertake basic mechanical assembly, wiring, soldering and simple wiring loom production.- Perform fault finding and carry out repairs.- Test finished products including PAT testing.- Calibrate and configure equipment.- Manage stock control and materials- Help write work instructions for assembly, quality control, calibration, and testing.- Manage health & safety for the team.To be successful, you must have the following qualities, skills and experience:- Significant experience in supervision and leadership of a team is essential (ideally within the mechanical or electronic product assembly sector)- A formal qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering is also required.- Proven track record of managing staff, workloads and targets.- Experience of using measuring equipment (eg digital micrometre/pressure gauge), knowledge of basic mechanical procedures (eg thread tapping, pneumatic fitting assembly) and knowledge of simple component level PCB population/modification.- Knowledge of health & safety- Computer literate (Microsoft Office including Word and Excel)- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and work meticulously to high standards- Ability to evaluate situations quickly, foresee problems and select effective solutions- Confident, flexible and willing to change duties to meet the challenging demands of the busines- Strong communication skills and ability to work part of a team.- Educated to GCSE/NVQ Level II or equivalent.Candidate Source Ltd is an advertising agency.
