Job Description

The Business:This is a leading global sports technology company that designs and develops multi-sports simulators for both entertainment and training purposes.Founded in 2016 to increase participation in sports worldwide, they use data, augmented reality technology, machine learning and robotics to re-engineer how sports are played. Essentially, they use technology to change the game!They are working on a great pipeline of products and features over the next few years and there will be many aspects of the business to get involved in within their highly dynamic, passionate, and ever-growing team!The Job:They are seeking a keen, enthusiastic, and organised Procurement and Finance Officer to join their team.They are ideally looking for someone with experience in a Purchasing role who is eager to learn the finer financial aspects of the role. You will need to be confident in negotiating supplier terms and deals, looking at cost reduction, supporting the Operationsteam in their supply needs, supporting their Finance team with day to day duties and helping out in other teams as and when required.Key responsibilities:

  • Management of inventory (using their Inventory Management system initially identifying stock levels, purchasing based on requirements, processing items when they arrive and completing the payments linked to these. Processing all goods out.)
  • Ownership and responsibility of maintaining their inventory management and financial system - to ensure traceability of items and all financial aspects linked to this.
  • This includes (but not limited to) raising all Purchase orders, checking in with suppliers for updates on delivery times and all other duties as outlined above.
  • Help and liaise with all departments to keep them updated on their order delivery schedules and with the management of production.
  • Identify and implement improvements to purchasing processes, with clear communication to all teams and ensuring compliance to them.
  • Improve and develop relationships with suppliers, constantly looking to optimise their supply chain where possible.
  • Provide reports to the management team when required of (and not limited to) the disposal/redistribution of obsolete raw materials and stock levels.
  • Ensure a physical stock count is undertaken monthly, and all discrepancies investigated and reported.
  • Liaise with all suppliers and departments to ensure all Quality Assurance processes are followed.
  • Accurate and timely input of financial transactional information into Xero including daily reconciliations between the bank and Xero Ownership of the AR ledger including raising sales invoices with support from the Commercial Team
  • Ownership of the AP ledger with support from the Operational Team including weekly payment runs.
  • Support the Finance Director with weekly cash flow management.
  • Support the Finance Director with month end activities including accruals, prepayments, and other journal entries.
  • Support the wider team on any finance/Xero related issues.
  • Promote the role of finance and financial control within the business.
  • Adhere to the requirements of Health & Safety law and the companys requirements as to Health & Safety.
  • Attend meetings and trade conferences when required.
  • Train and supervise the work of other members of staff when required.
  • Carry out any other duties that may be reasonably required.
You will be required to work full-time from their offices in Nottingham (NG4) for the first 3-6 months, with a move to more flexible hybrid working once probation has been passed.Candidate Requirements:Required -
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Confident in using Microsoft or GSuite, including high skill levels on Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Enthusiastic, willing to learn new skills and support a fast growing company.
Ideal -
  • Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement or buying in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Confident in use of systems relating to the supply chain cycle and financial aspects of a business.
  • Proven track record of cost savings and supplier performance improvement.
  • Ideally hold a purchasing or supply chain qualification (CIPS or APICS).
  • Ideally have knowledge of Unleashed (ERP Platform).
