And its why were the UKs No. 1 choice for business waste managementHelp us make a difference as a Service Delivery Manager.A quick look at the role.Were on the hunt for a Service Delivery Manager to effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the Traffic Office, while also delivering and maintaining first class customer service against pre-defined business KPIs. You will work alongside the TransportManager to really support the Depot with its daily service, safety and financial performance where continuous improvement is the norm, not the exception.Why its an opportunity not to be wasted.

  • Provide leadership to the depot team, give work instructions and monitor the performance of the traffic dispatcher team.
  • Manage, motivate, train and develop the team as required.
  • Effectively manage with underperformance and implement disciplinary procedures as and when required.
  • Manage absence and conduct return to work interviews when required.
  • Manage the planning process for mobilisation of new work and tactical re-routes. Also manage the seasonal challenges of Bank Holidays and Christmas Holidays to ensure the resource and routes are optimised to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure route and service challenges are dealt with effectively to ensure a fist class service is provided to all customers. This may include site visits to the customer directly.
  • Follow up on termination requests from customers and aim to drive down the number of invoice queries received on a monthly basis.
  • Contribute towards on-going cost control activities and actively seek to improve efficiency, reduce operating cost, increase margins and meet budget targets.
  • Ensure all aspects of Health and Safety are adhered to, including H&S inductions, training, operating procedures and near miss reports.
  • Deputise for the Depot Manager when absent and complete other reasonable tasks as the company may require from time to time.
RequirementsHeres what we require:
  • Be a holder of the Driver CPC qualification.
  • Experience as a Traffic Manager or position of similar responsibility in the Services or Logistics industry.
  • Experience of people and health and safety management within a unionised and multi-shift environment.
  • An understanding of lean methodology and the ability to work to clearly defined KPIs.
  • Proven track record of successful resource management/cost control.
  • Experience with route planning software such as Route Monkey, DPS (logiX) etc.
  • Extensive understanding of the waste industry and relevant laws.
  • Strong understanding of Transport Legislation.
  • Knowledge of existing and impending environmental and health and safety legislation.
  • The ability to work within a commercially driven and time-critical environment.
  • Knowledge of production management.
  • Good knowledge of the local area.
  • Experience of operational line management.
  • Experience of managing in a labour intensive, Multi-shift environment.
  • Knowledge of people management in a Trade Union Environment.
  • Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, however A-Levels or a Degree certainly wont do any harm.
