Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Despatch Department Manager to join our Hunter Douglas team at the Colwick Distribution site in Nottingham. We’re looking for someone who is able to investigate and understand issues within despatch, manage admin,is a natural leader, and has great communication skills. If you possess these qualities, this role could be perfect for you!Our Despatch Department Manager will support the Customer Service Logistics Manager, and will be responsible for the management of the sortation and despatch process across all manufacturing units at the Colwick site, including managing the distributionof our outdoor goods. As a pivotal role within the company, you will have a high level of interface with other functions including, but not limited to, Manufacturing, Warehouse and the despatch team at our Glaisdale site. You’ll need to be able to provideclear direction, accurateand timely updates and impart relevant information to others to ensure all work is within standard operating procedure. Thus, communication is key to this role.You will also be required to bring and implement new ideas to the department, improving what we do and adopting best practice.As a manager, you will need to ensure staff development is carried out at all levels including identifying training opportunities and actively address any shortfalls in training or performance. You will monitor employeesproductivity and performance toensure agreed objectives are met. Therefore, an understanding of the Company Initiatives and processes is essential.If you are someone who has a drive to achieve results in a friendly manner, has a need to thrive in challenging solutions and a systematic approach to problem solving, all whilst implementing and maintaining quality standards, we’d love to hear from you.The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in a distribution environment
  • Experience in a managerial/supervisory role
  • Knowledge of SAP, MS Word and MS Excel
  • Excellent verbal, written and numeracy skills
  • Organisational skills
  • A willingness to network within the industry
This role is based at our Colwick site and the working hours of this role are Monday - Thursday 7.30am – 4.15pm and Fridays 7.30am – 12pm.
