Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. This role is based in Coulsdon, where you will be a crucial member in a thriving independentschool.Client DetailsWe are working with a secondary school for young people aged 11-19 based in Coulson. Students attending have a range of needs from Autistic Spectrum Condition and ADHD, with Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).Description

  • Have a strategic overview of provision for pupils with SEN, monitoring and reviewing the quality of provision
  • Report termly on SEND provision to SLT and issue reports
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Deliver training and advice to staff regarding SEN strategies and regulations.
  • Carry out assessments to identify pupils needs and ensure appropriate support is provided.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pupils progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
ProfileA successful Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) should have:
  • A recognised SENCO qualification.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent understanding of the SEN framework and regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
