Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. This role is based in Coulsdon, where you will be a crucial member in a thriving independentschool.Client DetailsWe are working with a secondary school for young people aged 11-19 based in Coulson. Students attending have a range of needs from Autistic Spectrum Condition and ADHD, with Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).Description

Have a strategic overview of provision for pupils with SEN, monitoring and reviewing the quality of provision
Report termly on SEND provision to SLT and issue reports
Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Deliver training and advice to staff regarding SEN strategies and regulations.
Carry out assessments to identify pupils needs and ensure appropriate support is provided.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pupils progress.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

ProfileA successful Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) should have:

A recognised SENCO qualification.
Experience working with children with special educational needs.
Excellent understanding of the SEN framework and regulations.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
