Job Description

Registered General Nurse required paying £16.50-£16.60 Per hourCompany Benefit Schemes

  • Full permanent contracts given following successful completion of Probationary Period and the Care Certificate
  • Aim of Post: - To provide a high standard of care through good nursing practice. To participate in the supervision and education of junior colleagues. To support the senior staff in the management of the home.The post carries shift responsibilities for: - The assessment of care needs the development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care.The post holder will be expected to: - carry out all relevant forms of care. Develop enhanced elderly care nursing skills. Supervise junior staff. Be able to demonstrate procedures to both unqualified and qualified staff. -
  • Duties will include care of the residents,
  • distribution of medicine, delegation of duties to staff and supporting the management team with any other duties as required.
  • To ensure all activities within the home are in keeping with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of professional conduct.
  • To participate in the development and maintenance high standards of nursing care within the Home.
  • Contribute to and assist the management of the nursing services within the Home. Provide clinical nursing as required within the Home.
  • Participate in and contribute to the teaching requirements of the Home. Implement and follow agreed policies and procedures in the Home.
  • Ensure the care activities are research based and in keeping with changes in the field of nursing. Subject to relevant policies, take part in the development and trial of new ideas and methods in the Home for the improvement of services provided.
  • Maintain custody of drugs, checking and witnessing the administration of drugs and medicines according to nursing policy. Order drugs for residents when required.
  • Carry out nursing procedures and treatments. Supervise professional work of care staff. Prepare for and receive reports at changeover of shift. Carry out General Practitioners instructions.
  • . Participate in minutes meetings convened by Manager. Undertake any other duties as requested by the Manager.
  • To keep adequate records of resident care including, Observation charts, Care Plans, Accident Report Forms, Property Books and render statistical information as required.
  • Prior to a full registration with NMC, salary negotiable - NHS Band 3 Equivalent.On successful completion of registration with the NMC and PIN being gained, salary will be negotiable - NHS Band 5 Equivalent. Required skills
