Job Description

Team Leader – Land ManagementAs we continue to grow, Tai Tarian is looking for an experienced Team Leader tomanage and inspire our teams to meet our goals and achieve outcomes that promote a cleaner and healthier environment for our diverse communities. Our successful candidate will have an all-round knowledge of biodiversity and environmental issues anda focus for what the future might hold in addressing the environmental challenges and ambitions of our organisation.The role is permanent with a starting salary of £35,518 a year, rising to £38,386 a year after key competencies of the role are met. With over 9,000 properties across our region, we are one of the largest social housing landlords in Wales, makinga real difference in our communities.About the roleThe role of Team Leader is a pivotal role within our Assets Team as they complete all people management responsibilities including Recruitment, Maximising Attendance Management, Conflict Management, Health & Wellbeing, Performance Management,and general welfare. They will set and maintain standards of Health and Safety including lone working, safe systems of work, transport, and work equipment.The successful Team Leader will be working as part of our large Property and Land Services team to ensure service demands are met timely, effectively, and efficiently. They will support the team’s work in facilitating land management,treemanagement andbiodiversity projects and bring innovative ways of working and to build relationships with key partners and stakeholders.About You To be successful in the role ofour new Team leader team member you’ll be committed to developing yourself and those in your team, providing a positive role model whos versatile in creating an open, inclusive, and trusting culture wherepeople thrive. You will look to share good practice and ways of working, identify opportunities for the business and ways to realise them.must have experience in conducting a role of a similar nature and be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Educated to a Level 4/HNC in a relevant subject/or equivalent experience.Or a commitment to work towards appropriate qualification and hold level 5 in ILM leadership (or equivalent), or commitment to work towards
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills and experience in managing a high performing, motivated and engaged team.
  • Experience and knowledge of land management, tree management, environmental issuesand/or biodiversity and the ability to lead and influence in this field
  • Effective communication skills to be able to provide solution focused advice and support influence
  • Good IT skills, with experience in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint
  • Demonstrate resilience in challenging and conflicting situations/objectives
  • To be agile and flexible in your work to ensure the demands of the services a met seamlessly
  • Delivering a high standard of work within deadlines
  • Thinking on your feet and problem solving
  • Be a strong team player
