Key responsibilities In this Lecturer - Electrical/Electronic (Control) Engineering job, your responsibilities will include:To teach on, and contribute to, the development and support for a range of programmes. To work closely with other members of staff both within the area and across other College areas.PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  1. To teach on a range of programmes within the specified area.
  1. To act as course tutor.
  1. To be a Course Coordinator for agreed programmes.
  1. To contribute to curriculum development.
  1. To contribute to the marketing of programmes, recruitment and interviewing.
  1. To play an active part in the development of the flexible curriculum and the learning materials to support this including the Colleges virtual offer.
  1. To develop external contacts and promote industry based work including work experience placements where applicable.
  1. To contribute to the co-ordination and administration of identified programmes.
Other Duties
  1. To be proactive in maintaining and developing quality standards on all programmes and demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement.
  1. To be an ambassador of Solihull College & University Centre and the Construction curriculum area in all dealings with external partners.
  1. To engage in marketing and promotion activities where required.
  1. To adhere to the College Policies and Procedures and be aware of their impact on the delivery of the programme.
  1. To be available for staff development and industrial updating as required to maintain competence.
  1. To adhere to policies, procedures and values
  1. To undertake all mandatory training in a timely manner as required e.g. Safeguarding, Prevent.
  1. To undertake necessary Health & Safety responsibilities, duties and training as required by this post.
  1. To undertake any necessary Data Protection responsibilities, duties and training as required by this post.
  1. Such other duties as required which are broadly consistent with the general functions and grading of this position.
To demonstrate commitment to professional development Skills & experience Level 5 Electrical Electronic Engineering qualificationRelevant Level 5 teaching qualification (or committed to work towards in line with contractual requirements)Teaching experience on related programmesIndustry related work experienceGood communication and Information technology skillsGood administrator - well organisedAbility to work as part of a teamFlexible and well motivated, able to work on own initiativeIf you are interested in the position of Lecturer - Electrical/Electronic (Control) Engineering , please apply with your up-to-date CV.
