Summary Were looking for a Buildings Maintenance Assistant, to help maintain the buildings and facilities at Blickling Estate in Norfolk to a high standard, and ensuring they are a safe environment for both our staff and visitors.This is a fixed-term position, working 37.5 hours per week until 18th September 2024.Internally youll be known as a Facilities Assistant. This important National Trust property requires excellentmanagement and comprehensive regular maintenance to ensure the Trusts high standards are maintained.This role sits within the Facilities and Business Services Team at Blickling, which is made up of the Facilities Manager, Facilities Coordinator and two Assistant Business Services Coordinators. The team are responsible for managing and carrying out facilitiesmanagement for the estate, which includes planned buildings maintenance, reactive repairs, compliance checks, contract management and business services support to the property.Our friendly teams at Blickling work collaboratively together to ensure the estates shared objectives can be achieved, and the property remains a well looked-after and popular heritage tourist attraction.Due to the location of our property, there is no public transport access and therefore we would encourage you to consider how you would commute here prior to applying. You also may occasionally be required to work outside your regular hours to accommodateevents and peak times.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing As part of our Facilities team, youll report to the Facilities Manager and carry out and arrange all manner of maintenance, repairs and safety checks, and help to keep our places presentable and safe, and in good working order.Specific tasks will include carrying out emergency repairs (such as unblocking toilets and fixing doors), pre-planned maintenance (non-urgent repairs and improvements) and compliance checks (eg. fire alarm testing and emergency lighting checks).Youll also need to be ready to lend a hand occasionally, wherever it might be needed across the estate, with things like moving deliveries or furniture, and always be demonstrating an excellent standard of customer service.Please also read the full role profile attached to this advert.
