Job Description

Summary Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team this role as a Welcome & Service Assistant, plays a core part in providing fantastic customer service.At Wicken Fen the role includes not only time in the Visitor Centre, but also time welcoming visitors as they arrive on site. Particularly at busy times we like to have a visible friendly presence in the car park, and outside, to ensure everyone has confidenceat the start of their time with us.In the Visitor Centre, the welcome and retail teams work closely together, so your passion for service will contribute to our shops success too. What its like to work here We are open all year round, 7 days a week. This role will alternate between 2 and 3 days a week, and will include some weekend working. The team is small, and youll quickly get to know everyone who contributes to the conservation of this internationallyimportant wetland, as well as everyone around you making all of our visitors feel welcome.Wicken Fen is one of the National Trusts Children and Young People hubs, so family programming as well as days for organised schools and other groups are a key part of what we do. Our outdoor activities for visitors include cycle hire and boat trips. Foryou, this means that there really is a wide variety of people to get to meet and greet. What youll be doing Reporting to the Welcome Manager, as a Welcome & Service Assistant, its your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.Youll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place youll work with the visitor welcome team to linkeverything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.Youll deliver high standards of presentation at the property, and ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property.
