Job Title: General Operative / Sheet Metal WorkerLocation: Whitstable, KentSalary: up to £16.00 per hour (dependant on experience)Hours: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 3.30pmOur Client:Our client are a family run business that manufacture and install their products around the UK. Working with all UK suppliers they are renowned for their quality and commitment to their customers.Role Summary:Your role as General Operative will be supporting the busy manufacturing team on the shop floor. Responsible for ensuring orders are completed in a timely manner and to the highest quality.Benefits:

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

Understand drawings and blueprints to determine project requirements.
Select appropriate materials as per the job sheet.
Cut metals down to correct size and shape for each project.
Weld components together to build a completed unit.
Use the punch machine to make holes in the materials.
Use the press brake machine to fold metals as per requirements.
Work as part of the production team to assembly completed units as per customer specification.
Carry out quality checks on products to ensure they meet customer specification and industry regulations.
Ensure components are finished, deburred and are safe to be assembled.

Experience and skills required for this position:

TIG Welding experience is essential (at least 1 years experience)
Experience with Sheet Metal Work
Ideally you will have worked in a manufacturing / production environment
Be able to work in a team as well as on your own initiative
Due to the nature of the business you will be required to have a security clearance check carried out
