Despatch Operative

Annual Salary: £24,000 - £25,800
Location: Whitstable, CT5
Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a Despatch Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that stock items are picked, packed, and despatched efficiently, with all relevant documentation in place. This role is crucial in maintainingthe flow of goods to our customers and upholding our service standards. Day-to-day of the role:

Inputting and reading data from the MAPICS database to manage stock levels and orders.
Picking, labelling, and packing goods accurately, ensuring all customer and customs documentation is complete.
Complying with the company’s responsibilities towards HMRC custom controls to avoid any compliance issues.
Participating in daily cycle counting procedures to maintain inventory accuracy.
Safely transferring goods between different areas of the warehouse.
Assisting with kitting for production as needed to support manufacturing processes.
Flexibility to work within other areas of the business as required to support overall operations.
Performing additional duties as reasonably requested by management, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in a despatch or warehouse role is preferred.
Familiarity with using database systems, specifically MAPICS, or the ability to learn quickly.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
Knowledge of HMRC customs controls and compliance is advantageous.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Good physical fitness to handle manual tasks and movement of goods.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to follow procedures.

Competitive salary range of £24,000 - £25,800.
Consistent working hours, Monday to Friday from 8.15 am to 4.15 pm.
