Job Description

Industrial Sewing Machinist / Seamstress (working primarily with Leather) required for a bespoke leather goods manufacturer.Start date: ImmediateTerm: 3-month temporary position with the opportunity to extend to a permanent position for the right candidate.About us:

  • We’re a small team of makers (and office dogs), that specialises in the personalisation of small leather goods and we are looking to expand our collection.
  • About you:You will be required to work on and help to design collections that include, but is not limited to:
  • Belts
  • Purses / Wallets
  • Keyrings
  • Totes / Wash Bags / Bags
  • Dog Accessories
  • You will need experience in:
  • Pattern making, cutting.
  • Operating industrial flatbed machines working with small leather goods.
  • Over-locking.
  • Stitching leather by hand (preferred but not necessary)
  • Production sewing - a minimum of one year in a professional working environment / or be a design graduate with the above-mentioned skills.
  • The ideal candidate needs to be:
  • A highly motivated and proactive person.
  • Competent working alone or in a team.
  • Someone with excellent planning and organisation skills, able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Unique and imaginative creative flare.
  • As youll be working in a small team and sometimes individually, youll be required to manage your own workload as well as following instructions.Other duties include, but not limited to, the packaging and fulfilment of orders, maintaining stock levels and supplies, customer service enquiries, and office administration.Please send a portfolio containing work examples along with your CV. Successful applicants invited to attend a COVID-SAFE / Socially Distanced interview will also be asked to bring with them designs, drawings, and samples of work.Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 am - 6 pm, 35 hours a week. £15,870 PA (£3,967 pro-rata for a 3-month term).
