Are you working in an Insurance role or looking for something new Do you have experience working with testing About Our ClientA leading and expanding motor insurance group who are renowned for its staff reward and recognition and is ranked highly in The Times Top 30 Big Companies to work for. They are currently recruiting for a Product Test Team Leader to join their expanding teamin the Whitstable area.Role Purpose:You will lead the Product Test team responsible for the successful completion of test objectives associated with Landscape, Non-MHR, MHR, Polaris and software house systems. You will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the Product Test Analystsas part of department developments, projects and releases, working closely with the Assistant Head of Broker Services. You will develop and maintain performance metrics, refine processes and conduct training to ensure testing best practices is observed andimproved upon.Key Responsibilities
  • Leading a team of Product Test Analysts:
    • Conducting 1-to-1 meetings
    • Preparing for and delivering appraisals
    • Setting objectives and targets
    • Creating key performance metrics
    • Creating service levels
    • Benchmarking team performance against the above
    • Coordinating project, development and release resourcing
    • Adhering to best testing practices across the team
  • Ability to handle and effectively carry out testing of multiple product lines as part of:
    • Rates updates
    • Development test phases
    • Project test phases
    • Live ticket resolution
  • Day to day management of the team, setting objectives, creating performance measures and reporting progress.
  • Capable of developing and maintaining test materials such as test plans, error logs and automated testing files.
  • A strong understanding of testing analysis. Comparing expected behaviour to actual behaviour and helping the testers with issue resolution.
  • Acting as an escalation point for testing related queries from all sources.
  • Root cause analysis of Landscape, Non-MHR, MHR and software house product issues.
  • Responsible for managing the testing of projects from conception through to release, including attendance at project meetings when required.
  • Building effective relationships with key stakeholders within the business and with external partners in order to deliver solutions that meet the business requirements.
  • Liaising with the Product Delivery Team Leader to ensure pre-release issues are tested and signed off within agreed timescales.
  • Liaising with the Product Support Team Leader to ensure post-release issues are tested and signed off within agreed timescales.
  • Ability to understand and respond to business demands in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Developing new procedures making use of emerging technologies such as robotic automation to reduce the risk of human error and deliver operational efficiencies.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
  • Experience within a testing environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills. Managing, motivating and prioritising the work of others.
  • Good understanding of the Agile software development life-cycle.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple conflicting high priority activities.
  • Strong Excel experience including formula writing.
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong software house experience.
  • Good understanding of automation technologies.
  • Good knowledge of DPA, FCA, TCF and any other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Desirable: An understanding of one or more programming languages.
