Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance EngineerLocation: Whitstable, KentSalary: up to £38,000Hours: Week 1: Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm / Week 2: Monday to Thursday 2pm - 10pm and Friday 2pm-7.30pmOur Client:A renowned manufacturer at the forefront of innovation, specialising in cutting-edge solutions for various industries. You will be responsible for performing preventive and reactive maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues,and implementing improvements. Your expertise and problem-solving skills will be instrumental in minimising downtime and maximising productivity.Benefits:

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
  • Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.
  • Diagnose breakdown problems.
  • Repair or fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly.
  • Maintain and store maintenance tools and equipment to the standard required.
  • Provide a timely breakdown response to emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.
  • Work with specialise equipment such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), hydraulic and pneumatic systems, which control machinery in the machine shop, assembly and plating shop area.
  • Installation of electrical and/or mechanical plant and equipment i.e. control panels, fixed electrical installations and testing.
  • Support with facilities maintenance i.e. buildings, roadways, water systems (plant and operations) and communication systems.
  • Maintain a responsible attitude to work, and liaise with departments, customers and other colleagues.
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics and operating instructions to support the planned maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain maintenance documentation, records and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of site services procedures, work instructions and safe systems of work.
  • Provide sub-contractor support and RAMS review when required.
  • Review and conduct risk assessments and method statements as required by the business.
  • Support with overtime and shift work as required by the business.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, and identify training and development requirements for individuals.
  • Carry out other such duties as reasonably requested.
Experience and skills required for this position:
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics experience
  • Tool room, machinery, CNC and mould machines and PLC control experience.
  • Facilities maintenance and have proven track record in electrical building maintenance.
  • A safety qualification.
  • Good organisation and planning skills.
  • The ability to prioritise your own workload.
  • Hard working and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and targets whilst maintaining quality.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The ability to follow a process from a written instruction.
  • The ability to lead by example and demonstrate best practice and have a continuous improvement mindset.
