Indirect Category Manager GBP42,000 - GBP50,000 Whitstable Our client is a market leading, manufacturing company who work within Aerospace, Military and Industrial sectors, and they have asked us to help them to recruit an Indirect Category Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of Sourcing, Tendering, Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management associated with a designated range of category suppliers. Also drive product and services in, at optimum cost, on time and to the required quality standard. Key Responsibilities include: · Managing all types of tenders: revalidation requests, standard revalidation requests, tenders for new parts/services, and tenders to restructure the supply base · Creating a statement of work and interpreting the business requirements in order to confirm conformity to our requirements · Managing the contract evaluation and tendering process; and for revalidations able to negotiate and track price reductions (PQuote process) · Working cross functionally across the business with key internal stakeholders including the Maintenance, Production Management, Commercial, Product Management, Engineering and Quality teams · Producing supplier performance reports to be used in conjunction with the vendor metrics; monitored and communicated for use in supplier performance review meetings · Developing or evolving the existing Procurement strategy for that category which covers the business needs · Promoting supplier relationship management and actively engaging with key suppliers to address issues and identify potential opportunities to further develop collaboration and deliver continuous improvement of supplier performance (e.g. Costs, Service and Quality). Essential Qualities include: · Engineering or Business Management degree; CIPS Qualified · Strong Purchasing background, with experience in Procurement within an Engineering environment · Buying experience, with a proven track record of cost savings and vendor performance improvement · Strong Vendor Management skills · Solid background in supply management, with a strong discipline in supplier cost avoidance · Focused on goal achievement with excellent background in senior-level negotiations · Strong Purchasing awareness and negotiation skills · Experience in Microsoft Office packages · Knowledge of Supply Chain Practices · Professionalism in attitude, conduct and communication Required skills
