Job Description

Adecco are proud to be working with a global manufacturing company who are recruiting within their Engineering department, see details below:Job Title: Development EngineerLocation: Whitstable, KentSalary: up to £35,000Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 4.30pm / Friday 8.00am - 1.30pmBenefits:

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
  • Design and develop interconnection solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Support product development activities from concept through to acceptance.
  • Support and contribute towards new business opportunities.
  • Support new business proposals and sales quotations.
  • Support operations to ensure the smooth implementation to series production of developed product.
  • Contribute to the technology plan for the development and identification of new product opportunities.
  • Support quality investigations, correct actions and process improvements.
  • Take care for health, safety and the environment, and others who may be affected by work activities, as well as co-operating on any health and safety issues.
  • Follow the work instructions as identified in the quality management system manual.
  • Carry out other duties as reasonable requested.
Experience and skills required for this position:Essential Experience:
  • Previous experience as a Development Engineer
  • A mechanical engineering background
  • Understanding mechanical design principles
  • 3D CAD experience
  • The ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team
  • Be organised
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
Desirable Experience
  • A degree in Engineering or Materials Science
  • Electrical design experience
  • SolidEdge 3D CAD experience
  • FMEA packages
  • PM tools e.s. MS Project
