Job Description

Job Title: CNC Setter / OperatorLocation: Whitstable, KentSalary: up to £36,000Hours: WEEK 1: Monday to Friday 6am-2pm / WEEK 2: Monday to Thursday 2pm-10.30pm / Friday 2pm-7.30pmOur Client:A renowned manufacturer at the forefront of innovation, specialising in cutting-edge solutions for various industries. Their commitment to advanced technology, quality, and customer satisfaction has earned them a reputation as a leader in their field.Role Summary: As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will play a vital role in our clients production process. Working with state-of-the-art CNC machinery, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machines to manufacture high-quality components with precision andefficiency. Your expertise in CNC setting and operating will be essential in delivering exceptional results.Benefits:

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
  • Set and operate CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components from raw materials.
  • Ensure products are to the highest quality before being sent to the assembly line.
  • Produce small to medium size components in a timely manner,
  • Inspect work to engineers drawings using various measuring equipment.
  • Report and quality defects to the machine shop supervisor.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on the machines.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and report any issues promptly.
  • Optimise deficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life and monitoring.
  • De-burring, cleaning and final inspection of products.
  • Completing all required paperwork to ensure tractability.
  • Ensure you, contractors and visitors comply with the health and safety policy and wear the correct PPE.
  • Carry out other duties as requested.
Experience and skills required for this position:
  • Experience of setting and operating multi-spindle, multi-axis CNC lathes, with a minimum of 3 axis.
  • Experience of using faunc machines
  • Ideally you will have experience of nakamura or similar machinery
  • Have an understanding of programming
  • Experience within a low batch component manufacturing industry
  • Experience in cycle time reduction
  • Experience in tool management and optimisation
  • The ability to accurately measure and inspect products
  • The ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ideally you will have knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5s
