Our client is a thriving logistics company based in Dover. They are a global leading company specialising in fast and efficient logistics solutions across a wide range of industries. Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to acquire the servicesof a customer-focused, professional Customs Clerk to work in their night shift team. The idealcandidate will have a strong transport/logistics background. For the successful candidate, the company offers 29 days holiday (including 8 BHs) rising to 32 with service along with other fantastic benefits.Main responsibilities:* Preparation and processing of import/export customs declarations and clearance* Customs import/export entry checking* Deal with all enquiries and queries quickly and efficiently relating to customs procedures, tariff classifications, duty rates, and any other documentation requirements* Liaise with importers/exporters and others to obtain mandatory information for import and export entries* Deal with any customs-related complaints* Maintain data integrity on all systems* Liaise with key customs partners* Support and advise all customers whilst ensuring the company is fully compliant with the requirements of HMRC and other relevant bodiesKey Skills & Experience: * Previous experience as a customs clerk is essential* Experience in using customs software is essential* Good understanding of the law and regulations surrounding customs clearance requirements* Ability to communicate politely and effectively with a variety of people internally and externally.* Good IT skills and confident using any computer equipment* Analytical and logical problem-solving.* Excellent attention to detail.Additional Information:* Please note this is a full-time, permanent role working 12-hour night shifts 7pm - 7am on a 4 on 4 off rota.* Additional leave with length of service* Company events* Company pension* Cycle to work scheme* Death in service benefit (following completion of probation)* Wellness programmeIf you would like to apply for this opportunity, please submit an up-to-date CV including details about your current or most recent salary and your availability/notice period.
