Job Description

Founded in 1901, The Camping and Caravanning Club is the oldest and largest in the world for all forms of camping. We operate a network of more than 100 UK campsites, providing fantastic locations and facilities to customers who holiday in tents, caravans,and motorhomes.Were investing in new posts to further deliver outstanding campsites for our members and regularly acquire, develop, or build campsites in fantastic locations across the UKWe are currently recruiting for a Facilities Surveyor to join our busy Property & Development Team. This new post will assist in the day-to-day facilities maintenance and servicing monitoring of our utility supplies and infrastructure, providing front linesupport and contract administration to our property network.The successful candidate will work with a dedicated team in a varied post, whether its appointing contractors, raising orders or going out to our sites to inspect, measure or recommend works, all with the aim of maintaining an operational and H&S compliantfacilities infrastructure.With campsites all over the U.K. often in scenic, rural locations, our sites typically consist of one-storey buildings such as reception, shower, and toilet blocks, as well as hard standings, electric hook-ups, and access roads.This post works alongside an existing Facilities Surveyor in a department of eighteen employees that includes Planning, Programme Management and Delivery teams. This post is hybrid working, based in the office 2 days a week and the option of working fromhome for the remaining 3 days, when not visiting sites.Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Site inspections, assessing problems and recommend remedial works
  • Measure existing sites and building
  • Transfer information onto drawings
  • Alongside team managers support procurement and appoint suitable contractors
  • Contract management, issuing works orders and site instructions
  • Monitor contractor performance
  • Conduct electric and water readings and safety checks
  • Work alongside administrators when delivering on repair requests in a timely fashion
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • ONC in Building Studies qualification, or similar construction industry related qualification
  • Previous experience of using surveying and measuring skills in the context of a commercial environment or gained through placements whilst studying
  • IT computer building services packages, including Microsoft Project
  • Willingness to travel across the network with overnight stays, when required
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Drawing preparation using CAD would be an advantage
