Job Description

The Camping and Caravanning Club is the worlds oldest and largest Club for all forms of camping and our aim is to help people enjoy the simple pleasures that camping can bring. Its an exciting time to join the organisation and be a part of our continuedgrowth.As one of the leading names in the outdoor industry, we pride ourselves on truly understanding the needs of our customers, giving them peace of mind when enjoying a stay on one of our 100 campsites. Were a not-for-profit organisation, which means that everypenny spent with us is invested back into improving facilities and services for our members.Our Finance team is made up of 14 talented staff members, who are vital to the smooth running of the organisation, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join the team.The successful candidate will support the Head of Finance and work collaboratively with the finance team, ensuring a coordinated approach to delivering financial and management information to the business.Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts for the Club
  • Provide support to relevant budget holders with submitting their budgets
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget and assisting with updating forecasts throughout the year
  • Production of the group statutory accounts and be a main point of contact for audit queries
  • Prepare and submit the quarterly VAT return for the Club, ensuring any VAT payments are made promptly to HMRC
  • To take responsibility for a professional customer service focused approach to the organisation
  • Preparation of the financial statements, including liaising with auditors and tax advisors
  • Support with the Clubs cash flow management and investigate variances between actual cash flow and forecast cash flow
  • Accounting oversight to a Unit Support function including both VAT and year-end reconciliations
  • To provide support, as required, to the Head of Finance
Were looking for the following skills and experience:
  • Professional Accountancy Qualification
  • Experience of providing monthly and annual financial and management information
  • Excellent customer facing, relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent standard of verbal and written communication
  • Friendly and team orientated
The Camping and Caravanning Club is a fantastic place to work, with a supportive and dedicated team. Weve been helping people enjoy the great outdoors for over 120 years and these days, as well as having campsites in fantastic locations we hold our ownmusic festival, torchlight.This post is 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday from 8.45 to 16.45. We operate Hybrid working with 2 days in the office (Monday and Wednesday) with the option of working from home the rest of the week.Benefits include 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays and 10% pension (5% / 5%).Due to the high volume of applications normally received unfortunately it is not possible for the Club to communicate back with each applicant so please note that if you do not hear from the Club within 3 weeks of sending your application you should assumethat unfortunately you have not been successful on this occasion.
