Job Description

Site SupervisorOngoing, Temporary ContractJarrowSeven Resourcing are working with the local authority to fill a Site Supervisor role based in Jarrow. This will be on an Ongoing temporary basis. The role is due to start in February 2021.The authority wishes to establish a district energy network in Jarrow. The Viking Energy Network, Jarrow (VENJ) project will extract low grade heat from the River Tyne at Jarrow Staithes and utilise heat pump technology to distribute low carbon heat to a district energy network in Jarrow. The energy network will provide heat and power to public sector customers. It will decrease the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the use of fossil fuels for heating in Jarrow to contribute to national level renewable energy, energy efficiency and CO2 targets and will establish the authority as a leader of innovation in climate change.It is anticipated that this role will start on site from the first week of January 2021 and run until July 2022. The Supervisor will work up to a 48-hour week and attend site Monday to Friday. The Supervisor will typically not attend site during the working period on Saturday mornings unless specifically required to do so and agreed with reasonable notice.Responsibilities of the Site Supervisor include:

  • Visually inspecting the works during the period of site attendance for compliance with the contract.
  • Undertaking tests and inspections as required by the contract.
  • Receipt of contractors test certificates and records as required by the contract.
  • The notification of defects.
  • Recording daily site record sheets that will be issued to the Project Manager by email on a weekly basis.
  • Liaison with the project manager.
  • Receiving samples from the Contractor and notifying its acceptance or the reason for not accepting such samples.
