Job Description

Job Title: Area Sales Manager Location: North Job Sector: DIYJob Type: Field Sales Salary: £30,000Job Reference: RI/39968NAn excellent opportunity to work on an established area with a market-leading company. Youll take on a well established territory covering the North (M62 corridor and up including Scotland) with responsibilities including:

  • Develop, agree and execute a sales plan for the agreed accounts in a geographical area to maximise sales and develop sales opportunities.
  • Working with your appointed Tele-Account Manager to develop, agree and execute a customer contact plan by month, week and day.
  • Build effective and professional working relationships with all contacts (Suspects / Prospects and Customers)
  • Ensure that all contact details are fully completed, including marketing information within the CRM
  • Develop and maintain the required level of product knowledge of both my clients and competitor products.
  • Develop, monitor and review sales promotions for the appropriate Customer Categories to increase incremental sales activity.
  • Where required, conduct training on both my clients and competitor products for the Tele-Sales Account Manager Team.
  • To assist in the Product Development, both new and obsolete, through insight into customers by developing a robust needs analysis of the whole customer base.
About the Company:This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and proactive Area Sales Manager to join a long established family run business who specialise within DIY sundries but also have branched out into home and garden wear.The business distributes a wide range of DIY, gardening and housewares products to business customers including high street retailers, garden centres, and independent DIY / hardware stores across the UK.Key Skills/Experience Required:For this Area Sales Manager role my client is willing to look at either someone with a proven track record of sales success in developing accounts, ideally coming from the DIY or garden sector with experience selling into builders merchants and garden centres.Or they would also consider someone who is looking for their first field sales role and train them up. You will receive full system and process training and product training from leading manufacturers but a willingness to learn and the ability to pick up thingsis essential. You will need:
  • Proven ability to work independently and remotely
  • Ability to use initiative to get results.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to coach and mentor the Tele-Account Managers with their roles and responsibilities.
  • Experience of / aptitude for working with contact management software; PC literate.
  • High level of personal organisation who is capable of maintaining a significant workload.
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Numerate.
  • Genuine desire to work in field sales.
  • Required - Minimum 3-5 B2B telesales or field sales experience
Salary/Benefits Information:
  • The salary package for the role is up to £30,000 plus bonus plus car or car allowance plus benefits
