Our client undertakes transport planning studies and developing traffic and transportation schemes for public and private sector clients. They have established a strong reputation for producing high quality traffic modelling for a variety of purposes and have a good track record in developing innovative methodologies and solutions.The transport / traffic modelling role will primarily involve leading the development of local and microsimulation traffic models, supported by the existing traffic modelling team, providing a technical leadership role within the team, and contributing to the future growth of the business. Our client is currently engaged on several very high-profile and challenging projects for key clients and there would be the opportunity to become involved in these projects directly and play a pivotal role in their delivery. You will be provided with opportunities for internal and external training as part of a programme of continuous professional development.REQUIREMENTS: It is essential that you have: ·A good skill level and experience of using LinSig and microsimulation software (VISSIM would be of particular benefit). ·A good level of professional work experience, with London experience highly desirable. ·A good standard relevant degree, or a post graduate qualification in transport planning or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability. ·A working knowledge of industry modelling guidance and an understanding of calibration and validation techniques. ·A high standard of numeracy. ·Good written and spoken English. ·Proficiency with MS Office software and Excel in particular. ·Additionally, the following skills / experience would be considered beneficial: ·Experience of TfLs Model Auditing Process ·Project managementExperience with other software packages, i.e.: ·TRL TRANSYT ·PARAMICS ·PTV VISUM ·SATURN ·AIMSUNWhat you will get in return: Remuneration will include a competitive salary that reflects your appointed grade and experience, a company pension, private medical health insurance, group life assurance, membership costs for professional bodies and eligibility for performance related bonuses.FOOTNOTE:If you feel that you are right for this role technically, but the rate, location or seniority does not suit you specifically then please still feel free to send us your CV.
