Job Description

Your new companyA leading speciality insurance group with offices in the United States, UK and Europe, just to name a few.Your new roleAs a Senior Systems Administrator, youll be working alongside the Infrastructure Manager to improve and implement internal processes. Youll be responsible for the day-to-day management of vulnerabilities and maintenance of the IT infrastructure & desktop estate (data centres, servers, storage, cloud).Youll be working within a global team of 15, supporting a user base of 3500.

  • Ownership of maintenance weekends and patch managements processes
  • Improvements of the infrastructure and desktop estate
  • Work closely with other teams across the wider IT department
  • Liaising with stakeholders and C-level executives
  • Work as a team to improve availability, performance and capacity of servers, storage, and back up solutions within the data centres or cloud solutions
  • Work beyond the schedule hours when required, providing out of hour support in incident situations
  • Participate in on-call rotation of off-hours support
  • Willing to work shifts between 07:00 - 18:00
  • Wiling to work late and weekends when needed
  • What youll need to succeed.
  • Practical knowledge of ITIL application processes and implementation, preferably knowledge with Service Now.
  • Knowledge of server operating systems, with emphasis on Microsoft Windows, including domain structures, Active Directory, system administration, and Windows Terminal Server.
  • Vulnerability management skills experience using SCCM to patch and manage server windows servers.
  • Experience working and maintaining desktop estates with SCCM, to include application packaging & OS build management.
  • Sound experience of developing and maintaining SCOM monitoring environments. Advance PowerShell scripting with an emphasis on automating manual tasks.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management tools such as Qualys.
  • Sound working knowledge of VMWare.
