Just Like Us, the LGBT+ charity for young people, is recruiting a Head of Comms and Media in a brand new role to join this award-winning startup and lead our comms and media strategy. You will be responsible for helping to grow our profile and managing our reputation through leading our external and internal communications, including our media engagement, social media channels, public-facing campaigns and communications with our people and young ambassadors.Youll be responsible for working alongside the Chief Executive to ensure that more schools, teachers and young people than ever are aware of and connected to our work, as well as holding responsibility for our brand and externally-facing content, including social media. You will actively seek out media opportunities and develop relationships with press contacts across mainstream media outlets and the LGBT press as well as providing a final quality check on our school resources and other content. In doing so, you will build on our ongoing commitment to give a voice to the young people we serve.Just Like Us (JLU) is the LGBT+ charity for young people working for a world where LGBT+ young people live awesome lives. Our mission is to empower all young people to be the champions of LGBT+ equality at school and work. To do that, we run three programmes:School Diversity Week: our annual initiative empowers teachers and pupils across the country to tackle homophobic, biphobic, and transphobic bullying by organising activities that celebrate LGBT+ equality in education
