Job Description

Finance & Grants Manager #361c. £40,000London, UKPermanentOur partner is a well-known and respected international charity working on equality and rights. They are seeking a Finance and Grants Manager, supporting with new proposal development and submissions, and grants compliance, monitoring and reporting.Responsibilities

  • Programmes budget management, working as a finance business partner with the programmes team to support with new proposal development and submissions; ensure that budget holders understand any variances; and that restricted and unrestricted income, and match funding requirements are strictly monitored.
  • Lead in preparing grants reports for donors, and for preparing and delivering donor audits.
  • Support the Head of Finance in developing and reviewing internal controls, policies and procedures, and ensuring that these are understood and applied.
  • Undertaking risk assessments, and undertaking financial and risk monitoring visits to ensure effective financial management.
  • Develop the capacity of staff to ensure grant management and financial compliance requirements are understood and adhered to.Key Requirements
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant with a strong technical background and understanding and experience of the compliance, management and reporting requirements of institutional donors, including DfID, EU, and USAID.
  • Experience of charity SORP, and experience of working in a multi-country, multi-currency environment.
  • Experience in strengthening internal controls, and in building the capacity of colleagues, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Strong financial analysis, management accounting and reporting.
  • Strong IT and systems skills, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with finance and non-finance staff, both in the UK and overseas.
