Desktop Support Engineer - Exciting project work Location: LondonPackage: circa £40k with competitive benefits We are looking for Security Cleared Desktop Support Engineers to work on a number of exciting projects within Government Secure sites in London. This amazing opportunity requires an active DV clearance, as well as a number of other areas of the business. In ADS we foster a culture in which employees feel valued and supported, delivering exceptional rates of customer satisfaction in the UKs most complex safety-and security-critical markets.The day jobWe are seeking experienced Desktop Support Engineers to join support team working on an exciting secure Government site. Youll be key in performing installations, maintenance, performance optimisation and troubleshooting on a wide range of desktop infrastructure technologies.Key responsibilities

  • In depth technical support of a Windows desktop solution, including troubleshooting and problem/defect root cause analysis seeing through to full resolution
  • Management of virtual desktop infrastructures hosted within Citrix XenDesktop
  • Test and Release Windows desktop security patches
  • Creation and maintenance of Windows desktop automated builds (MDT & SCCM)
  • Maintenance of AD Group Policies applicable to the desktop estate
  • Work in a disciplined and structured manner in accordance with ITIL based service management processes
  • Handle customer problems promptly; escalate issues according to established procedures
    • Essential skills
  • Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact.
  • Experience in MS Exchange, VMWare, Citrix VDI, Remote access VPNs, Windows Server 2016 (AD GPO PowerShell) and Windows10
  • Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
  • ITIL V4
  • Must hold current DV.
    • Desirable skills
  • CCA-V / CCA-P
  • Experience of supporting & upgrading Windows 10 Operating Systems
  • Experience of supporting App-V packages and Full App-V Infrastructure
  • Software packaging and deployment experience. Experience with MS SCCM 2012 would be an advantage
  • UE-V Administration
  • Accreditation to MCP level or equivalent
  • Experience of Agile delivery methods
