Across every department in Government, there is a constant array of vital projects either being planned, worked on, or assessed. Working across these challenges is the Infrastructure & Projects Authority (IPA), a central team of project delivery, finance and infrastructure experts who ensure the success of the most vital programmes. Working with each Government department and the wider industry, we advise on the deliverability of each goal, learning lessons from every workstream that we are involved in, so that we can improve project performance. We are involved in high-profile initiatives that require the most innovative approaches, and it is within this team that you could find an exceptional opportunity to further your knowledge and career.Leading engagement with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), you will be at the heart of the MoDs most vital programmes of work ranging from infrastructure, equipment and nuclear through to IT, transformation and NetZero 2050 initiatives. This is a senior client-facing role, so you will act as the bridge between Ministers and the MoD, ensuring their goals are achievable, and working with industry to help bring their ambitions to life. Leading the IPAs Defence team, you will take ownership of end-to-end assurance processes, providing a high-quality advisory and review service. This will include assessing risk against cost, schedule and benefits. While you will have no authority over the MoD, you will build relationships so that you are capable of influencing their outputs, establishing yourself as their leading authority for all advisory and assurance-related activity.Coming from either the public or private sector, you will have a background in project, programme or portfolio delivery, or you will have a proven track record in assurance. With experience of leading large-scale transformation projects or programmes, you will have exceptional leadership and influencing skills, with the capacity to get the best out of key stakeholders and the wider IPA team. As a professional member of a relevant technical institution, you will be capable of making effective decisions while always seeing the bigger picture, and you will have the confidence to engage at Ministerial level.Our work is hugely varied and deeply interesting.
