Job Description

Are you an organised and positive leader, who is confident working in a fast paced working environment If you can work both independently and collaboratively, whilst delivering a high quality and effective service then wed love to hear from you!HM Treasury is looking for a proactive and collaborative individual to join their Correspondence and Information Rights Team (CIRT) in London!CIRT sits within Treasury Corporate Centre Group, which provides corporate systems, services, solutions and facilities to enable HM Treasury Group to deliver effectively and efficiently to over 2,200 colleagues. Every day, HM Treasury receives a variety of correspondence enquiries, spanning a range of policy issues, which makes it an exciting and interesting place to work, particularly around events such as the Budget.As the Treasury adapts to working very differently in light of the outbreak of Covid-19 we are looking to expand our existing team. As a Correspondence Manager, you will coordinate and lead the successful handling of correspondence including identifying policy and ensuring accurate responses are drafted. You will be required to engage with a wide variety of colleagues and management regarding Treasury policies as well as connect with other Government departments and ministerial private offices. Some of your duties will include;

  • Being responsible for the day-to-day line management of Range C (EO) staff, recognising, respecting and rewarding the contribution and achievements as well as dealing with dips in performance quickly, fairly and appropriately.
  • Monitoring and assessing the day-to-day performance of the Range C staff against their goals and the teams services levels to ensure that accurate information is recorded and provided with regards to correspondence.
  • Working alongside other CIRT managers to review and plan for absences, to ensure sufficient resources are available to meet workload demands and for the team to deliver on its objectives.
  • Ensuring that the departments timescales are adhered to during the handling, drafting and responding of all correspondence.
  • Resolving sensitive or complex correspondence cases, minimising any escalations to senior managers.
  • Operating in an exciting and dynamic working environment, we are looking for the successful candidate to be experienced in identifying gaps in processes and implementing change, with a good attention to detail and the ability to work independently and handle a busy workload. The successful postholder will also be an effective relationship builder, who is able to deliver to deadlines and priorities and thrives in a fast paced environment.Benefits
