Job Description

As a membership organisation, we have the opportunity to provide a voice for our members on key issues that will impact the tech sector and also on how tech can help provide positive outcomes for people and society, drive economic growth and protect the planet.As part of a small dynamic marcomms team, you will take the lead in ensuring that techUK maintains a strong track record of positive national media and trade press coverage. You will develop and manage a communications programme that successfully engages techUKs core audiences and raises brand awareness in traditional media, as well as through our social channels.Key responsibilities

  • Develop annual comms strategy and quarterly comms plans
  • Monitor and track progress against agreed plans
  • Manage a busy reactive press office
  • Manage techUKs online presence from editorial, design and functionality perspective, identifying opportunities for development and improvement incorporating appropriate measurement and analysis
  • Work closely with programme heads and marketing functions to develop concise, crisp, impactful and relevant PR campaigns aimed at techUKs target audiences using appropriate channels.
  • Deliver top-level corporate storytelling and ensure key messages are developed across key areas
  • Ensure consistency in brand representation across all assets
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media and partners
  • Ensure optimisation of internal processes for the commissioning of communications activity, setting appropriate service expectations and measurement of performance.
  • Desired Knowledge or Experience
  • A proven track record of delivering on communications strategies and tactics. Particularly, in media relations within the tech sector and/or business
  • Proficient in the use of social media channels and analytical tools
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work as part of a small team with many different internal stakeholders.
  • This is a full-time role, reporting to the Director of Brand, Communications and Marketing, based at techUKs London offices.This role profile is a guide to the work that is required but does not form part of any contract of employment and may change from time to time to reflect changing circumstances.The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK prior to commencement of employment.
