Launched in 2016, we have already had a stream of mould-breaking bestsellers including two number ones in 2021 with Philippa Perrys The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read and Dr Rangan Chatterjees Feel Great Lose Weight. Other recent bestsellers include Daniel Levitins The Organized Mind, Julia Samuels This Too Shall Pass, Haemin Sunims Love for Imperfect Things and James Nestors Breath.Penguin Business (formerly Portfolio Penguin) publishes cutting-edge ideas in business, professional development, finance and economics. Our forward-thinking and inspirational books include Seth Godins The Practice, Marie Forleos Everything is Figureoutable and Simon Sineks The Infinite Game.You will be an experienced editor with a track record of acquiring, shaping and publishing bestselling, expert-led books in health and wellbeing. You will have your finger on the pulse of the market, spotting trends ahead of the curve, and will always be thinking, is there a book in that Working across both imprints but with an emphasis on acquiring for Penguin Life, you will have a broad remit which could include anything from popular science, smart thinking and popular psychology to professional development. Whatever the topic, youll have a knack for finding the leading experts with the most innovative and commercial ideas.Working closely with the Publisher for Penguin Life & Penguin Business, youll commission, edit and publish 10-12 books a year: editing them, championing them, and ensuring they find readers. Youll be great at working with our in-house team to develop reach books strategy, its positioning, copy and design, as well as being adept at building strong relationships with authors and agents.It goes without saying that youll be creative, reliable and unflappable with excellent editorial, copy-writing, organisational and interpersonal skills.
