Job Description

We are looking for a motivated, self-starting Business Development Coordinator to take the lead in attracting new clients, retaining current clients, identifying and managing new leads, and coordinating tender responses.Who we areMuseum of London Archaeology (MOLA) is an experienced and innovative archaeological and built heritage practice, international research organisation, and charity. With more than 300 staff in London, Northampton, Birmingham and Basingstoke, MOLA has been providing independent, professional heritage advice and services for over 40 years.What the role involvesOur commercial services are designed to help our development, infrastructure and construction sector clients to meet their planning process requirements swiftly and expertly, with the certainty and value they need.In this role you will work closely with Directors and Senior Project Managers to develop and implement strategies for winning business, and to generate leads in key target areas, whilst identifying new areas for growth. As this is a developing role within MOLA, there is scope for the right person to really make it their own and build upon the job description to create a rewarding role that will ensure the continued success of the organisation and your own personal and career growth.Skills and experienceTo succeed in this role you will be:

  • An enthusiastic, proactive self-starter, able to take the initiative
  • Possess a professional, personable, positive, diplomatic and confident demeanour
  • Have outstanding organisational abilities, with an aptitude for planning ahead and prioritising effectively
  • Able to network effectively and speak with confidence to new potential clients
  • Able to identify opportunities for various services and up-sell, as well as streamlining processes
  • Familiar with CRM systems and/or commercial market databases (such as Glenigan)
  • Experience of working well with senior staff in a busy office environment
  • Outstanding written and spoken English communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to copy edit
  • In addition, it would be desirable if you had:
  • Experience in a client-facing environment
  • Experience in tendering, coordinating and writing tender responses
  • Experience of researching
  • Familiarity with construction sector supplier requirements (for example, quality, H&S terminology)
